Chapter 1 · Marrakech

Fifty years in the family. Now the keys are yours.

For fifty years your grandfather ran a little hanout in the medina of Marrakech. The whole street knew his counter, his mint tea, and his old red carnet.

Now it is your turn to lift the shutters. Keep his regulars happy, keep the shelves full, and make the shop your own without forgetting where it came from.

How it plays

A day behind the counter

Lift the shutters, serve the street, count every dirham, and close the day with stars.

Serve the neighbourhood

Customers walk in with their orders. Hand over the right items, then count exact change at the register. Get it wrong twice and they walk out.

Mind their patience

Every customer has a fuse, and you can read it on their face. Take too long and they storm off without buying a thing. Try it: she won't wait forever.
